There are three compartments in our so’rail HSCB : circuit breaker compartment with a 3-position withdrawable tray (connected, test, disconnected), low voltage compartment and connection compartment.

In a DC Traction System, the return circuit (negative) will usually have a high insulation level against the earth to limit stray current phenomena.

However, in case of dangerous overvoltage and/or specific defects, the return circuit will be short‐circuited to the earth. For this purpose, a voltage limiting device will be installed on each negative path.

The so’rail limiting device is in compliance with EN 50122‐1/2 standards. We offer class 1 or 2 cabinet solutions, or class 3 or 4 products complying with EN 50526-2 standards.
